Joelle Terry is the Vice President of Community Impact and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Communications for Comcast Corporation. In this role, she is responsible for leading corporate multi-platform messaging and campaign efforts related to DE&I and community impact. Leveraging external and internal channels, third party outreach, and press and integrated digital strategies, Joelle drives communications for the company’s $100 million commitment to create a more equitable and connected society as well as its comprehensive initiative to advance digital equity.
Before rejoining Comcast in 2021, she was the Senior Vice President of Communications at the NBA’s Sacramento Kings where for over five years she was the head of strategic communications, messaging, and media relations for the organization. Under her leadership, the Kings reimagined how sports teams can create change through high-impact, award-winning social responsibility initiatives, such as the Team Up for Change social justice summit and nonpartisan voter registration campaign Rally the Vote, and the franchise received recognition as the most innovative company in sports from the New York Times, Fast Company, and WIRED.
Prior to the Kings, Joelle was the Director of Government Communications at Comcast NBCUniversal, where she oversaw federal legislative and regulatory affairs communications activities in Washington, D.C. Joelle joined Comcast after serving as the Deputy Director of Message Events at the White House during President Obama’s first term where she directed the strategic planning of domestic presidential events and ensured policy priorities were effectively communicated. Previous to entering the Administration, she worked in media relations and event management for the historic 2008 Obama for America campaign. Joelle began her career as an Associate in the Dewey Square Group’s Sacramento office managing public affairs campaigns for California ballot measures, nonprofits, and corporate clients.
A native of Sacramento, California, Joelle earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations from the University of California, San Diego.
